L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Robuchon a Galera Voted

The only two restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau in the Top Three across 16 countries

Macau, 18th November 2010 – The Lisboa Hotels is pleased to announce that two of its fine-dining restaurants – L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Hong Kong and Robuchon a Galera in Macau – are listed in the top three restaurants for the latest edition of The Miele Guide’s Asia Top 20 Restaurants. In second and third places respectively, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Robuchon a Galera are the only restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau voted among the guide’s best establishments.

The Miele Guide is a widely respected authoritative guide to Asia’s finest restaurants. Selections for the guide are conducted through rigorous public voting and judging by industry experts. The Miele Guide 2010/2011 judging process includes short-listing and selection by a panel of 77 culinary experts and food editors in Asia, public voting, and verification through anonymous tasting sessions. This year, 101,000 votes were received from the public in 98 countries around the world. The restaurants are assessed by the quality of the food served, ambience of the restaurant and level of service offered. Most importantly, the votes reflect the tastes of Asian diners.

L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon is a two-Michelin star restaurant established in Hong Kong at The Landmark in November 2006 and based on a concept which renowned Chef Joël Robuchon first created in Paris in 2003. The restaurant is designed with a circular bar enveloping an open kitchen, allowing customers to witness all aspects of the cooking experience, from food preparation to the plating of dishes. The menu offers a selection of French classics in innovative tasting portions and the restaurant boasts one of the most extensive wine collections in Hong Kong with over 3,000 labels of vintages and appellations to suit a wide range of wine lovers.

The only three-Michelin star restaurant in Macau, Robuchon a Galera is Chef Robuchon’s second restaurant venture outside of France. Established in 2001, Robuchon a Galera has the most exclusive wine selection in Asia and since 2005, has been honoured with the Wine Spectator’s “Grand Award” every year. The restaurant shares a phenomenal wine cellar with

other dining establishments within the Lisboa Hotels Complex and offers over 7,100 wine labels.

The two Robuchon restaurants are jointly managed by the Lisboa Hotels and Mr. Joël Robuchon, the most Michelin-starred chef in the world, with a total of 26 stars. The Lisboa Hotels also currently owns and oversees the operations of several quality hotels in Macau and the Lisboa Hotels Complex is the only complex in the world with three Michelin-starred restaurants under one roof – Robuchon a Galera, The Eight and Tim’s Kitchen – underscoring the group’s commitment to culinary excellence in the region.
